Tribute

Eileen Skinner (nee: Reilly), 89, of Glen Rock, passed away on January 15th surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her dear husband David. Eileen is survived by her children Susan and husband Raymond Deming of Glen Rock, David H Skinner Jr., of Ramsey, Stephen J. Skinner of Hawthorne, Paul and wife Lynn Skinner of Wanaque. Adoring grandmother to Kaitlyn, Matthew, Emily, and Amanda. She was also predeceased by her parents Joseph and Kathryn Reilly. Eileen was a faithful parishioner at St. Catharine’s RC Church in Glen Rock where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Eileen’s work history included being a travel agent at Stratton Travel of Franklin Lakes and an executive secretary at Ridgewood YMCA. Eileen delighted in her volunteer work throughout the years at St. Joseph Hospital, Cub Scouts, Hamilton School Library and cooking meals for Eva’s Village in Paterson. Eileen met the love of her life, David, in 1946 at Long Beach, NY where he was a lifeguard. They were married for 58 years and loved to travel. Together they raised a family and her proudest accomplishment and delight was being a mother. In her free time Eileen love to read, go to the movies, and do crossword puzzles. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at Feeney Funeral Home, Ridgewood from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Catharine’s RC Church, Glen Rock. Interment to follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
