Paul C. Brodek

Paul Clarence Brodek of Hillsdale, NJ, passed away on the 21st of July, 2022 at the age of 63.

Paul was the devoted husband of Ayako Brodek, loving little brother of Joann Ross and Mary Lou Tindale, proud father of Bryan and Keith Brodek, and lucky father-in-law to Nada Psachoulia and Jamie Bousleiman.

Born in Fort Lee, NJ to parents Hans and Joyce, Paul studied at Rutgers University where he met his future wife Ayako, before moving to her home country of Japan and beginning to raise their two sons. After 10 years in Japan, Paul and Ayako returned to the United States and settled in Hillsdale, where they have been able to watch their sons grow up, start their careers and get married. Paul was also lucky that, whether in bicycles or cameras, he was always able to make his career about his passions.

His family will hold a memorial service at Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood, NJ. The service will take place on Saturday the 30th of July, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with eulogies to begin at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, Paul’s family requests that you consider a donation in Paul’s memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Neuro-Oncology research efforts. Through Paul’s fight against glioblastoma, this is a cause that has become important to the Brodek family. Paul’s bravery and MSK’s care gave his family more time together than many in his situation. In turn, they hope that Paul’s experience can help others who will face the same battle via improved treatment options, and hopefully one day, a cure.
