Michael Edward Fidanza, age 63 passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023. Michael was the husband to Dawn Fidanza for 37 years. He was a loving father to Julia Capabianca and her husband Anthony, and to Katharine Fidanza. Michael was a doting and caring Nonno to his grandchildren, Aria and Beau.
Michael is predeceased by his Mother, Janet Sutter Fidanza, and his Father Albert Fidanza. Born in Cliffside Park NJ, Michael is survived by his brothers Richard Fidanza, David Fidanza, and James Fidanza. Michael and Dawn lived in Little Ferry for 10 years and then moved and lived in Ridgewood for the last 27 years.
Michael loved the Community and became very involved with coaching his daughter’s softball teams. He also enjoyed and built many floats for the Sommerville School’s 4th of July parades. Michael’s devotion and love of his daughters and community lead him to be a Dad’s Night performer and an active participant in the Ridgewood Marching Band Parent Association.
Michael loved being around family and friends and had an amazing ability to make you feel comfortable talking with him. He loved making a connection with anyone he talked to and would have you laughing or smiling within the first five minutes of a conversation. He loved his Oakland Raiders, and New York Yankees.
Music was very dear to him and something he was extremely passionate about his entire life. He loved to always listen to the Eagles, Eric Clapton, Elton John, and many artists from the 70’s. He would also love playing old recordings of orchestral concerts that his daughters participated in, past marching band performances, and reminiscing with his love for musicals. He enjoyed attending the annual Southside Johnny concerts on the Stone Pony Summer Stage ever year he could.
He loved to sail and be on the water. He was the most at peace when sailing and listening to his favorite songs. Michael was a great father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He left us to soon and will be missed tremendously.
