October 17, 2021.
Frank L. Bradley Jr., age 97, of Brewster, MA and formerly Ridgewood, NJ, died peacefully at home in the comfort of his family. Frank was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen Agnew Bradley (Kay) and a devoted father to ten children, sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. His children include Mary Bradley of Wayne NJ; Susan Bradley and husband Troy Jones of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Francis Timothy Bradley and wife Trina of Midland Park, NJ; Michael Bradley and wife Caryn of Chatham, MA; Peter Bradley and wife Valerie of Brewster, MA; Dan Bradley and wife Elaine of Hingham, MA; Jeffrey Bradley and wife Amy Norton of Milton, MA; Kevin Bradley of Ledyard, CT; the late Frank Bradley III of Ridgewood, NJ and Elizabeth Bradley of Manchester, NH.

Most anyone who met Frank remembered him because he always remembered them. He was remarkably loyal to friends and family, his country and community, his alma maters, and multiple employers. He was devoted to his Catholic faith and lived by the tenets of humility, generosity, and compassion. Frank was an athlete throughout his life and became an active golfer in his later life. There was no question about his dedication to the Red Sox and Cornell football. He loved attending and watching sports, but especially college football.
Frank was born in Everett, MA in 1924 to Frank and Esther Bradley. He was the oldest of four siblings, the late Mary McCullough of Wolfeboro, NH; the late William Bradley of Jupiter, FL; and the late Esther Heavey of Wolfeboro, NH. Frank moved to Ridgewood, NJ as a young boy, where he attended public schools and graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1941. He attended two years at The Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ as a post-graduate. In 1943, after graduating from Peddie, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a navigator during World War II. Frank was honorably discharged at the end of World War II and then enrolled at Cornell University College of Engineering. He graduated from Cornell in 1950 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1957 while working for PSE&G he studied and received his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. Frank excelled in academics and sports in school and played football while enlisted in the Air Corps. He earned membership to the Athletic Hall of Fame at Ridgewood High School for football, and The Hall of Fame at Peddie where he was a rare member of three sports: Football, Track and Hockey. In 2007, Frank was inducted into the Cornell University Athletic Hall of Fame for football and in 2015 he received the Cornell Football Association’s Louis J. Conti Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to Cornell University and Big Red Football.

After graduation from Cornell, Frank moved back to Ridgewood, NJ and went to work for Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) until 1957. He then moved on to Stone & Webster Management Consultants Inc. where he became president in 1965 and chairman in 1980 until his retirement in 1988. Frank was also president of Safe Harbor Waterpower Company and a member of the Board of Directors of South Jersey Gas Company. While living in Ridgewood he was active in Ridgewood Junior Football as a coach and served as a member of the RHS football scholarship committee, the Boy Scouts, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. In 1986 he and his wife Kay moved to Brewster, MA where he was active as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and the Lower Cape Outreach Council and served as president of Council on Aging for many years. He was active in Nauset Newcomers, the Men’s Group at Our Lady of the Cape Church, and golf leagues at The Captains Golf Course.
