Elizabeth Ann Mary Willis passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at home in Laconia, New Hampshire. She shared 83 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and priceless experiences with family and friends.
Born in Jamaica, Queens, NY to the late Elizabeth and the late Eugene., she was one of six children to bless the Huelster household. Elizabeth was a hard and dedicated worker. She was also an amazing cook and baker, most notably known for her irreplaceable stuffed peppers, famous meatloaf, hearty spaghetti, irresistible mac and cheese, and perfect upside-down pineapple cake. She was also a talented artist, devoted mom, and amazing friend. She loved music, especially Elvis Presley, WWE, AEW, and NASCAR. And boy did she love rescuing her kitties.
To say that Elizabeth was extraordinary, hard-working, generous, loving, and hilarious would be an understatement. If you had the privilege of meeting Elizabeth, you know that your life is forever changed for the better. She was the definition of a loyal friend and amazing mother; we will be perpetually grateful for having had her in our lives.
Please do not forget to share your recollections, tell her story, and laugh at the good times. Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her late husband, John Willis III, her father and mother, her brother Gene, her son Gerald Thompson, daughter Elizabeth Williams, her best friends Carol and Carol, and the kitties that she was Mom to.
She leaves only joyful memories to her treasured siblings; Margaret, Bernadette, Mary, and Patricia as well as her adored children; Daniel Thompson and his wife Christine, William Thompson, John Willis IV, Christopher Berghout and his wife Jaime, Samantha Willis, Joey Willis and his wife Michelle; her cherished grandchildren; Michael Thompson and his wife Sally, Kelsey Therrien and her husband Mack, Michael, John, and Madeline Willis; her beloved great grandchildren; as well as her dear best friends Beverly and Pinky.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, 2023, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. The Memorial Mass will take place on Wednesday, September 6, 2023,10:00 AM at the Church of the Nativity RC Church, 315 Prospect Street, Midland Park, NJ. Burial will follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
