Diane Marie West Laird

Our beloved Diane Marie West Laird, 88 of Upper Saddle River NJ, passed peacefully in her sleep with her loving husband of 44 years at her side on November 24th, 2022.

Diane was born on September 27TH, 1934 to Margaret and Richard West in Far Rockaway NY.

Diane was always very active in her church and loved to sing in the choir, she had a beautiful voice. Diane loved to travel having been in 48 states. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and was a gourmet cook and baker, she would often donate dolls and blankets to local hospitals. Diane loved to read, especially anything relating to the Civil War. She loved genealogy and researched her family tree back to the 18th century. Diane lived in Florida for 35 years before returning to her daughter’s home in Upper Saddle River.

Diane is survived by her husband, Doug Laird; her two sisters, June Cary, and Arlene House; her daughters Lillian Agnelly, Diane Canestrino, Tracy Everett, and son Sean Laird; six grandchildren, Tara Bass, David Bass, Alexis Agnelly, Jason Antalek, Austin Laird, and Olivia Laird. Diane was preceded by her son Emil Canestrino, her brother William West and her sisters Leona Price and Elaine Schreck.
