Claire S Drexler

Claire Sless Drexler, 85, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2023.  Claire was predeceased by her husband Robert J. Drexler, Sr.  Claire was a devoted mother to Michael and his wife Lori, Thomas, Stephen, and Robert Jr. and his wife Jaclyn.  She was a proud and loving grandmother to Melissa, Courtney, Heather, Michael, Erin and husband Jared, Christopher, Kyle and wife Kyli, Matthew, Amanda, Robert III, and Sarah.  Claire was extremely fond of her siblings, Cornelius and Carl, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends, and valued the time spent with them throughout her life.
Claire was born on July 1, 1937 to parents Cornelius and Claire Sless.  She was raised in Paterson, NJ where she proudly attended St. Mary’s School from first grade until graduation in 1955.  Claire spent many summers at her family’s vacation home in Seaside Park, NJ where she enjoyed sunbathing on the beach and quality time with her family and friends.  Claire attended Paterson State College for 2 years before leaving to work as a telephone operator.  After a 2 year courtship, Robert and Claire married on October 10, 1959.  
After starting their family in Paterson, the Drexlers moved to Midland Park in 1966, where Claire lived for 48 years.  In 2015, Claire moved to Wyckoff, NJ.  Claire had many different jobs in her lifetime, from waitressing at the country club to office manager at The Villadom Times.  
Claire enjoyed many activities like painting ceramics, knitting, crocheting, reading, and watching Dancing with the Stars.  She was proud of the work she did as part of the Rosary Society of Nativity Church.  Claire often spoke fondly of the 17 seasons that she and her husband spent as campers at the Pleasant Acres Campground in Sussex, NJ where they made many lifelong friends.
Claire will be remembered by her family and friends for her personality and caring heart.  Claire would do anything to help someone in need, and would often reveal her stubbornness in order to influence change.  Her family and friends can’t help but smile and laugh when they remember the special times they had with Claire.
Visitation will take place on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood, NJ.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 am, at Church of the Nativity in Midland Park.  Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.
