Ann Laffey

Ann Marie Laffey, 86, of Mahwah, NJ, formerly of Ridgewood, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023.


Ann was a devoted wife to Michael Laffey of 65 years and loving mother to Nancy (David) Hart, Maureen Laffey, Michael (Jenny) Laffey, Terence (Denise) Laffey, Patti (Tim) Falvey, Tim (Robyn) Laffey, and Matthew (Suzanne) Laffey. She was the biggest fan of her sixteen grandchildren, Bridget, Matthew (Jordan), Patrick, Lauren, Emma (Angelo), Jack, Timmy, Catherine, Patrick, Terence, Caitlyn, Meghan, Erin, Brendan, Owen and Ryan, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Ann was also a loving sister to Pat (Brendan) Doyle, and was predeceased by her siblings John, Grace, Michael, and Anthony.


Ann was born in Bay Ridge, Booklyn, NY on April 21,1936 to Bridget and Anthony McGinley. She graduated from Bay Ridge HS and went on to work as a secretary which was a skill she used throughout her adult life. She married Mike in 1958 and raised their seven children in Brooklyn and later in Ridgewood. Their favorite home, however, was on the Jersey Shore in Highlands at their beloved Gravelly Point Road or “47” where they laughed, made lifelong friends & countless memories for the last fifty years.


Visitation at Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood on Tuesday, January 17 from 4-8pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 18 at 10am at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. Interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
